Tourists murdered by suspected terrorists in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Ugandan security forces are hunting for a group of suspected ADF terrorist who killed three people including two foreign tourists and their Ugandan guide during a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The assailants reportedly waylaid the tourists who were moving in tour wagon under Gorilla and Wildlife Safaris.

They also set the truck ablaze before fleeing the scene.

Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) Spokesperson Bashir Hangi confirmed the incident on Tuesday evening.

One of the two slain tourist, Hangi said, was a British national while the other was a South African. He however, did not disclose their names.

He said the attack happened along Katwe Road between Lake Nyamunuka and Kabatooro.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga while commenting on the attack said an "aggressive" manhunt for the assailants had started.

"Our joint forces responded immediately upon receiving the information and are aggressively pursuing the suspected ADF rebels. We express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims," he said.
