Express FC unveils SEMABET Uganda as official kit sponsor for 2024/25 Season

EXPRESS FC has officially announced SEMABET Uganda as its kit sponsor for the upcoming 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season. This partnership, valued at up to UGX 500,000,000, represents a significant step forward for the club. As part of SEMABET’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the deal is initially set for one year, with the option for renewal, and will provide EXPRESS FC with a variety of playing and training kits. The partnership not only boosts the club’s image but also enhances its operational capabilities both on and off the pitch.

Andrew Kitamirike, Head of Operations at SEMABET Uganda, expressed the company’s vision to foster grassroots soccer in Uganda through this collaboration.

"Our CSR initiative is set to propel EXPRESS FC to even greater success, both on and off the field," Kitamirike said. He emphasized that the partnership aligns with SEMABET's broader vision of supporting Ugandan football and engaging with local communities through various projects.

One of the most notable aspects of this partnership is SEMABET's direct involvement in player transfers. The betting company has already facilitated the transfer of one of Uganda’s top left-backs, Mustafa Kizza, from KCCA FC to EXPRESS FC. Kizza's arrival is expected to significantly strengthen the team’s squad ahead of the new season, reflecting SEMABET’s dedication to ensuring that EXPRESS FC remains competitive in the league.

While the sponsorship deal focuses on football, SEMABET’s CSR efforts extend beyond the pitch. The company has been involved in a community project in Kyamukola village, Kabarole District, where they provided sustainable access to clean water through the construction of an electric-powered well and a 20,000-litre reservoir tank. This project, along with their football initiatives, highlights SEMABET’s commitment to making a positive impact on both sports and local communities.

"Whether it's on the football pitch or in our communities, SEMABET is dedicated to being a force for positive change," Kitamirike added.

EXPRESS FC CEO, Mr. Miiro Ashraf, also expressed optimism about the partnership. “This sponsorship marks a pivotal moment for EXPRESS FC. The financial backing provided by SEMABET will enable us to make crucial investments across the club—from our squad and technical staff to infrastructure and community outreach. We are confident this partnership will give us the competitive edge to challenge for the Uganda Premier League trophy,” he stated.

The excitement around the partnership extends to EXPRESS FC’s fans, who eagerly anticipate the team’s new SEMABET-branded kits, set to debut in the season opener against newly promoted Mbale Heroes FC on Monday, September 17. The match will be held at the newly renovated HAMZ Stadium, formerly known as Nakivubo Stadium, marking a fresh start for the club as it embarks on the 2024/25 campaign.
