Mulindwa strongly warns clubs against discussing transfers with his players illegally

Vipers Sports Club president Lawrence Mulindwa is not happy certain clubs are conducting transfer business with his players behind his back.

Mulindwa made the remarks while addressing his players at St Mary’s Kitende ahead of the new season.

He explained that the conduct of some the club bosses is unprofessional and sternly cautioned his players against negotiating deals without knowledge of the club.

He explained that all contracted players ought to address their concerns through the club management as stipulated by FIFA.

“You must not disappoint people. You must behave professionally so that clubs have to learn something from us”.

“Clubs are very much aware…if a club comes to talk to player who is contracted, it’s not allowed. If that is brought to attention of FIFA, that club will be suspended and fined very heavily. That is how football is being protected”.

He urged the clubs to have the guts to approach the club management and enter into formal discussions.

“People want to do whatever they want yet clubs are protected by CAF and FIFA. You cannot just come and start talking to my players the way you want. When you have interest, express interest through the club and we start negotiations then later involve the player”.

“Then a player to tell me he has already talked to the club? No! Not me? That is undermining the business. We are in competition. I am a serious man. We want to go beyond that!”

The strong comments follow recent allegations stating that his star player Cesar Manzoki has reportedly been lured by several club chiefs in the region and in the country without knowledge of the club.
