Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic and his assistant Moses Basena , goalkeeping tactician Fred Kajoba are overseeing the players summoned for the clash.
As the clock ticks away, the much-anticipated clash between Uganda and Algeria draws closer. The national team has pitched camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisasi, a Kampala suburb.
A total of 33 players were summoned for the games and by press time, at least 22 had reported for the first training sessions.
Cranes coach Micho says he is looking at boosting the players fitness levels well aware of the challenges posed by Covid-19 on sporting activities.
The team is going through gym sessions and training practices.
“I am very impressed by the commitment and character of the players in attendance. This is a great start ahead of our first game in the 2023 AFCON Qualifier. The fitness levels of these players is based on the successful completion of the league after two years of non-sporting activities”, he told Fufa TV.
Boosted by success at club level, Riyad Mahrez will lead the Desert Foxes against Cranes in Oran on June 4 and four days later Uganda hosts Niger.
