Media personality Lucky Mbabazi has shared why she loves her job.
"My job requires me to make people feel good, put smiles on their faces, and help them forget their worries, even if only for a few minutes—something I’ve enjoyed doing for a long time and still cherish," she said.
Mbabazi, who currently works at Capital FM, is regarded as one of the most influential radio personalities in Uganda.
Born Rahma Mbabazi, the radio and television personality began her career in broadcasting while studying at the University of Dar es Salaam as an undergraduate.
Her first role was at a station called Times FM, after which she moved to Magic FM (part of Africa Media) and also secured a position at DTV, or Dar es Salaam TV.
Upon returning to Uganda, she worked at WBS TV, where she presented Showtime Magazine. She later joined Beat FM (before it was acquired by the company that owns Capital FM and rebranded to Luganda).
Following her time at Beat FM, she moved to KFM but eventually transitioned to Capital FM. There, she started as a co-host on the drive show alongside the late Alex Ndawula and Patrick Salvador Idringi.
When Ndawula retired, Mbabazi continued hosting with Idringi, who later left, paving the way for her current co-hosting partnership with Gaetano Kagwa.
In addition to her radio career, Lucky Mbabazi also hosted a health show on NBS TV.
