How Konshens, Azawi's new song led me to Kony's food joint in Nakivubo

I type the words 'Konshens restaurant' into the search bar and start scrolling. Right away, the name 'Kony's Takeaway' catches my attention.

It has been 10 years since Konshens' concert in Uganda and quite a while since his collaboration with A Pass on 'Gamululu'. His voice is back on Ugandan airwaves with Azawi's new album, and while browsing through the 'Quinamino' singer's page, I see Konshens' comment on their song.

He's not a busy social media presence going by the duration of time between posts. However, before I leave his page, something catches my eye. Under his '57 posts' and 'KON-DON' is the word 'Restaurant'.

Where other artists and public figures have 'Musician', 'Artist', and 'Public Figure' among others, Konshens has 'Restaurant'. With my interest piqued, I go around searching, first, why an artist would use that (on the off chance it means something) or if he has a restaurant he's running.

I type the words 'Konshens restaurant' into the search bar and start scrolling. Right away, the words 'Kony's Takeaway' catch my attention.

It has been years since the name 'Kony' instilled terror in the hearts of many victims and people across the world. With a five million dollar bounty for the rebel's capture and a proposed International Criminal Court hearing in his absence, the charge for justice is still in pursuit.

However, the name Kony, before it was hijacked by terrorism, means 'To Help' in Acholi.

Kony's Takeaway is situated along Bativa Road in downtown Kampala suburbs near Friends for Human Survival and Development Organization, a non-government organisation.
