What is the title for a female best man?
Most people call her your Best Woman, but she is considered as part of the groomsmen. The equivalent exists in the opposite direction, called the Man of Honour instead of the Maid of Honour.
Is it acceptable to have a female best man?
Yes, it is. Since it has become commonplace to have more than one best man, it is easy to find that one of your best friends is a girl.

From a gender perspective, all photos have a symmetry of one gender on their respective side. If it is not an issue, then this is worth discussing beforehand to avoid any confusion and awkwardness. Like Atim, most of the time a female groomsman will opt for a female tuxedo or suit. But overall the dress code depends on what she feels comfortable in. This will normally match the style and colouring of the other groomsmen. The other option is to wear a dress that matches the colour code of the groomsmen.
What gift to get her
It is a common tradition to buy something for the best man such as cufflinks, a bottle of whisky or some cigars. These may not match her but as the groom you know her best. Something personalised from something you share or she loves may be a good idea.
