Netizens turned to X for laughs and serious talk after Apostle Grace Lubega, founder of Phaneroo Ministries International, said he will erect a $55 million (about Shs200 billion) building without asking anyone for money.

"I am planning to build a fifty-five million US dollar building and I'm not borrowing. I'm Abraham's son. Oh, I mean it," Lubega said while preaching.

He went on to say, "I know there's a young man in the ministry who is ready to give a million dollars on that. He doesn't have a job, but he has the heart. That's the one I'm looking for."

"Because I know people who have the money but don’t have the faith to give," he added.

Lubega’s main claim, that he won’t fundraise, surprised many. Some saw it as reverse psychology given his next comments.

In Uganda, many pastors and religious groups have built large, costly churches by collecting funds from their members.

Lubega, born in Wakiso District in 1987, started Phaneroo Ministries in 2014, according to publicly available information. His goal is to make a big impact across generations.
