1. You must tweet
Twitter, just like any other social media platform, requires that you put out content all the time. One of the reasons you aren't growing as fast as you had hoped is that you are not putting yourself and your content out there for people to notice you. Tweet often about what is most relevant and valuable to you and your audience.
2. Limit yourself
Pace yourself when you’re sending out all those tweets to avoid going overboard. Tweeting every five minutes can be a bit much for your followers. Track your engagement to keep your pace in check. An increase in tweet frequency may rub your followers the wrong way thus affecting engagement.

3. Engage more than sell
Tweets that resonate with your followers will bring you more engagement than your products or links to your site. Make sure to be subtle with your marketing and sales. Make public conversations a big percentage of your Twitter handle more than anything else.
4. Follow what is trending
Speaking of adopting more public conversations, watch what is trending and have something entertaining, funny, and interesting to say about it. The trend doesn't have to have a direct link to your business.

5. Use Twitter analytics
Always gauge your performance in Twitter analytics. Analyse what’s working and what’s not. If you notice a good pattern in your tweets for engagement, make it a bigger percentage of your Twitter content strategy.
6. Twitter automation
This asset helps you to be more productive by doing the following for you;
Scheduling tweets in advance and tweeting at set times, using a social media management tool to automatically tag incoming tweets that contain a certain hashtag, and using Twitter chatbots to streamline customer service workflow.
But watch out for the downsides of automation, like; sending automatic DM’s to new followers and spamming them with links and relying solely on automated tweets to handle customer complaints.
Only automate time-consuming tasks that don’t necessarily require too much manual work.
7. Retweet with a comment
Retweeting other people's tweets when they say something interesting is great but putting your own spin on it is even better. You’re able to add commentary to the retweet instead of just re-sharing what someone else tweeted. That way it’s more personalised and puts additional value for your audience.

8. Don't measure success by follower count
This tip is less of a tactic and more of a general best practice. Before the analytics tools, one of the most common ways brands and people measured success was by follower count. Acquiring more followers meant your strategy was working. Things have changed since then. Here are better ways to track your progress;
- Engagement growth
- Leads generated
- Brand sentiment on Twitter
- Customer response time
