This year's AMVCA has been given three days for all lined-up activities in contrast to last year's AMVCA which had over a week of activities.
Talking to the PUNCH, the Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, Busola Tejumola, noted that this year’s edition of the AMVCAs is focused on raising the bar when it comes to recognising and rewarding talents in the various aspects of the African film and television industry.

For the Ugandan audience who didn't have representation at the launch, we have curated a list of celebrities who would have rocked the best outfits. The curation is based on physical appearance as well as the celebrities we think are most likely to pull off an outfit.
Elozonam and Hanson Baliruno
Baliruno would have replaced Elozonam in the blue aso-oke agbada and almost no one would have noticed. Perhaps Baliruno would have ditched the monk strap shoes.
Chomzy and Zari
JayPee and Reycho Rey
Neo and A Pass
Juicy Jay and Allan Toniks
Liquorose and Spice Diana
Spice Diana could give Liquorose a run for her money in the traditional Benin aso-oke.

Yemi Cregx and Grenade Official
Grenade could pull off Yemi's look in the long crimson-red agbada. The fur on his shoulders would make a good chip on the shoulder for Grenade.
Jackie Appiah and Lydia Jazmine
The AMVCA ninth edition will be happening tomorrow Saturday, May 20, 2023.
