'I'm lost for words' Ssali Alpha quits: Lessons from his message

He posted the message two hours before he was spotted in the country. He has received support and encouragement from football fans and celebrities like Eddy Kenzo among others. His message and move have some lessons we can take for ourselves.

"Today I leave the club that brought me up when I was a minor and I’m lost for words. I would like to thank the whole team on and off the pitch for the amazing journey we had together and I will always carry the memories wherever I go. It’s time for a new chapter and a new challenge. Thank you @prolinefcug 💛," he wrote.

There's no perfect time to quit or change

There's almost never a perfect time to make life changes. As Doris Lessing said, “Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible.” If you have to consider some things before you change, then you need to figure out how to keep going and not put pressure on yourself to quit or change. But when the time comes to change, don't expect it to be perfect.

Do something 'else' before significant decisions

Take some time off to clear your mind of the circumstances that push you towards certain actions. You can also do something outside your comfort zone in the meantime. Let's be honest, although change is a good thing, in extremes, it can be chaotic or lack impact. Incorporating significant changes, however small, can build us up to bigger changes with confidence and perspective.

It is (can be) simple

Change doesn't have to be loud or dramatic. It can be simple and easy. It is better that way because change itself can be tough. So make it as simple as possible for your sake. Every phase in life carries a different significance, impact, and challenge than the last. Don't compare time, experience, or investment, in one area or thing to another. Take into consideration where you were but always look to where you can be.
