The Holy Week starts today as Christians celebrate the final days of Jesus Christ starting with his entrance into Jerusalem celebrated on Palm Sunday.

This is followed by a series of celebrations and observations including Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday.

While observing the Holy Week, Christians remember Christ's sacrifice and His persecution.

However, Pope Francis has asked the Christian family to focus on the significance of Jesus' sacrifice rather than "suffering" with him.

In a tweet, the message from the Roman Pontiff is that Christians ought to focus on and appreciate the blessings that come from the greatest sacrifice rather than identifying with the suffering and pain.

"Living #HolyWeek means entering ever more deeply into God's logic, into the logic of the Cross, which is not primarily that of suffering and death, but rather that of love and of the gift of self that brings life," the tweet reads.

The Pope has been hospitalised for a little while for bronchitis but was able to make a quick recovery just in time to celebrate with the church around the world.

When asked how he felt after the ordeal the lively Pope said "I'm alive, you know."

He was also trending a few weeks ago for a picture of him in a white jacket and jewellery. The viral photo was AI generated but that did not stop netizens from fawning over the Sovereign Pontiff in the getup.
