MC Kats demands his 'transport money' for Fille

MC Kats has come out to stand in solidarity with the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) for the career of his baby mama and singer Fille Mutoni. Kats posted on his Instagram, captioning a TikTok video of Mutoni and daughters having a family moment. He breaks down the origins of Mutoni's career and the unfair treatment they both received.

According to Kats, Mutoni's first two songs received massive airplay but that's all he and the singer reaped from the fame. For the next three years after the songs "Not About the Money" and "Where Have Been At" the duo did not earn any money from their pots of gold.

Kats has also revealed that the next hit song "Mbeela Eno" suffered a similar fate in terms of getting their efforts paid. Despite the fact that singer and songwriter Ray Signature gave them the song for free and music producer Nessim gave them a free studio, they did not receive their pay even then.

The acclaimed King of the Mic stated that he only wants his investment returned. Whether this means that Mutoni is free to take all royalties with no strings attached from Kats after he gets his investment back, is not clear.

Many artists have rallied behind a similar sentiment towards music royalties and the copyright law to get all the money earned from their music.
