Minister Balaam steals show at Bobi Wine’s graduation

Hon Balaam Barugahara, the state minister for youth and children's affairs this morning excited the crowd at Cavendish University’s 13th graduation ceremony.

The minister got the graduands cheering as he paid a hearty tribute to opposition leader Bobi Wine who was among the graduands.

I understand my brother Bobi Wine is one of the graduands. Allow me in a special way to congratulate, Hon Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu,” remarked the minister as the crowd cheered.

Bobi Wine was seen smiling before rising to wave to the crowd.

The minister also used an opportunity to politick as he delivered to the graduates, a message from President Museveni and his song Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

I bring you greetings from HE the President of Uganda and Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is the CDF, who also has congratulated all of you the graduands,” he said

He is looking forward to working with you to make Ugandan a better place. Let us love our country, let us be patriots.”

Minister Barugaraha was at the event to launch the Cavendish University staff Sacco

The Sacco which was launched in 2022 has since grown to Shs 100million.

Bobi Wine was one the 650 graduands that were awarded diplomas, degrees and postgraduate degrees in different fields.

In a social media post, the NUP president attributed the milestone to a few of his close friends and family including his wife Barbie Itungo and David Lewis Rubongoya, the NUP Secretary General who advised him to switch to Cavendish from IUEA.
